Hi there, I’m Eloise, and in this mini demo I will show
you how to pull data from Salesforce into EqualTo
and filter it so it is ready to use.
Before you can build an incentive plan,
EqualTo needs to get the data used
to compute the commission.
So, if your data is in Salesforce this mini demo is for you.
Now, let’s take a look at how it works.
To pull data from Salesforce,
you first need to connect to your Salesforce deployment.
Next you need to authorize EqualTo to
access your Salesforce account.
We first need to create a connected app on Salesforce,
and provide the consumer key and secret to EqualTo.
Then we can authorize EqualTo to pull data from Salesforce.
Now, EqualTo will pull data when you
click the "Sync now" button.
But, if you want EqualTo to automatically pull data
from Salesforce, you can configure a Sync Policy.
EqualTo will now automatically pull data from
Salesforce at 2 am, Monday to Friday.
Now we need to specify exactly what data EqualTo
should pull from Salesforce.
To do this, we need to create a data table on EqualTo
that will be automatically synced with
the Salesforce Opportunities table.
You have now pulled all Opportunities from Salesforce
and stored them in the “Opportunities” data table on EqualTo.
But your work isn't quite done,
you should also specify what fields you need
for your commission calculation,
and apply whatever other filters you require for the data.
You can do this in the “Data Table” editor.
On the top-left, you can specify what “Opportunity”
fields you want to pull.
You probably want to include the name
and close date
Include the value of the opportunity
And so that we know which user to pay
commission on a opportunity,
you probably want to include the opportunity owner
Finally, you probably want to pay commission
on closed won Opportunities.
So let's include the opportunity stage.
If you only want to import the closed won Opportunities,
you can filter this.
You can build an incentive plan directly on top of this data table.
If you need to further transform or combine this data
with other sources, EqualTo supports multiple data
connections and SQL for more sophisticated data pipelines.
As you can see, EqualTo easily allows you to pull data
from Salesforce making your commission process more
sophisticated and user-friendly for your team.
